The No. 98 / No. 99 side rabbet plane set is a tribute to the classic turn of the century version with a modern flare. Updates include a redesigned groove engagement surface fro the depth adjuster for consistent parallelism and one extra ounce of mass for slightly more heft. All brass parts are machined from billets of stress relieved C46400 Naval Brass. The cryogenic treated A2 tool steel blades are hardened to 60-62 Rockwell and fully ground. The knobs are turned from planks of Cherry. This plane set is perfect for the widening and clean-up of dadoes, rabbets, tenons, and sliding dovetails up to a ½" deep.
